Because the majority of the fans fall in the age groups of toddlers, young children, and teenagers and most teenagers are perverted/sex-obsessed? ^^;

I actually know quite a few doujinshi that aren't hentai, one is even worked on by various artists (some of them also draw hentai, some don't) the DXDX one that Blackjack Gabbiani bought.

There's also a cute fluffy SatoKasu doujinshi called Orange Mail that's pretty innocent.

Also, you'll have to go to Dark Roses to get to it, but there's also this really cute doujinshi with BRILLIANT art.
The art style is COMPLETELY different and- it's just breath-taking at times.
It's pretty innocent too, besides some innuendo. xD

Dark Roses seems to be down, though. ^^;

OH- there was one called Pokemon World, I think, that had an anthro Nyasu at some point that was constantly clinging to and hugging Kojiro. xD

It's notoriously hard to find anything non-hentai, but hey. Also, while not technically dojinshi, you should also check fansites that put up drawings- they sometimes do little comics.

As for Hentai, i don't mind it, if it's only innuendo. But I hate seing people that i like without clothes)) Maybe it's a phobia?

That's... bizzare. -draws nudes a LOT- ^^; Even tasteful nudity where nothing's showing and with at least semi-realistic proportions? (in other words, no Ono-style ROCKET LAUNCHERS for boobs. )

I can handle about anything if it's /tasteful./

Though, as I said before, that's not hentai. ^^; Innuendo can be in kid manga too, as well as nudity as there's less of a 'OMG EVIL MUST PROTECT THE CHEEELDRUN!' thing about it in Japan (ever seen the Pocket Monsters manga? No, not Dengeki Pikachu by Toshiro Ono, the FIRST Pocket Monsters manga. You see both Shuu (Red) and his Pippi's genitials. Seriously.)
That one was more general, bordering SLIGHTLY on ecchi.
Ecchi does not equal hentai.
Just like Love Hina = ecchi, NOT hentai.

Okay, but automatically linking genitials to sex is... kind of strange. Why should it even matter if the rest of the picture is good and the artist didn't mean anything bad with it? Why? Because it's their drawing. ^^;

You're right about one thing, the media does shove sex down your throats, but that doesn't mean you should hate the act itself. It's not really like what's in movies and crud- THAT is disgusting and explotive and I wouldn't blame you if you didn't like sex because of it (I'm surprised you're 17, though). Fearing the naked body /itself/, I don't see as justified from what you've said.

Let's reverse it.
In fact, what /you/ draw can be pretty disturbing to other people. They could ask you you /why/ do YOU draw underwear or breasts on women (even if they're covered with clothes) and ruin such otherwise pretty maybe even romantic pictures?

You'd probably think it was silly, right? This is the same thing, only reversed.
It's a matter of your own taste.
You don't like it, fine- but do understand that other people CAN like it, even if it seems strange to you. Some people aren't disturbed by their own bodies.

Should you take down all your art or hide it because some people don't understand WHY you want to draw such things? No, of course not! Everyone can put up pretty much whatever on the internet.

I would like to remind many great painters from renaissance, such as Michelangelo, Carravaggio, Santi, da Vinci... In renaissance nothing what was human, wasn't strange to people. Showing nudity wasn't anything shocking, even in churches.
Sometimes, drawing human with clothes instead of nude one. Most artists use it as metaphore and clothes are treated like emotional armour in this case. It bothers, the picture couldn't be so believeable, if you want to show, that people - "rulers of the world" - are very weak and small when it goes to greater and more powerful things (you can notice it very well for example on paintings that show Apocalypse). The second point is that you can show the beauty of human anatomy by occasion.
This is just another way of expression that is used by artists, since we know that paintings can have many meanings. Naked body doesn't always mean, that someone is really naked. One's soul is naked, One's feelings. You can notice it even in mangas. When on one page you see fully clothed character, on the next one he's suddenly naked although he didn't get undressed himself earlier. But in manga some areas are wisely censored very often. But it was just for another example.
Why showing genitals? Because I don't think it's funny when you draw nude male and you leave empty place between his legs as you simply sut some things off, particularly drawing in reality style... the same thing with females. And that's it.
Of course nobody wants to convince anyone here, that "porn" is good. I just want to tell you that some nudity is goos, while some other - bad. There are borders and showing genitals or not has nothing in common with it.
I know people, who don't like nudity and thought about sex make them sick. Maybe that's why because we raise in the world, when we see sex everywhere, whether it's porn on Internet or woman with really big breasts and in suggestive outfit in TV commercial. Moreover, sex is still a tabu! Yes it sounds paradoxical, but how many teenagers talk to their parents about "these" things? Do you think that it will be alright if these young people will learn about it from Internet, porn movies or magazine? Of course they will, but it will be false meaning of sex, sex without real feelings and not necessary with whom who you love. It's only empty desire - and teenagers can react different while realizing it. Some of them will be looking forward to it "because it's just a great fun and nothing more". But there will be adolescents that won't like it - and they will say "EWWW! It's so cold, empty and SO SICK! how can people do it?". Of course there could be many other things that can explain this "phenomenon". It's just my theory, because for me any of these behavings, perverted people watching porn daily nor people who are sick when you show them a nude drawing and they think it's porn and whatever, is understandable. But maybe it's only me. Nudity and sex will be always controversial subjects and I don't think anything will change it. Everybody has his own statement and no one can influence it:)

Actually, some of the early nude paintings had to be of Adam and Eve or such because if it's RELIGIOUS, the church and people would accept it, otherwise they couldn't do much nude art AT THE TIME. But yeah, it later became more accepted. ^^

But the rest of your point is MUCH better then anything I could ever say. ^_^

I love the point you raised about porn. Just about EVERYTHING about it is fake. I hate and SHUDDER everytime I find that some men expect real women to be like that.
